Markdown Note

Open-source desktop Markdown notebook

2026

Markdown Note is a free, open-source desktop app for writing notes, journals, and documentation in Markdown. Built with Rust and GPUI, it offers source editing, live preview, and reading views alongside notebook folders, document tabs, and full-text search. It supports checklists, tables, syntax-highlighted code, offline Mermaid diagrams, and an integrated terminal, with light and dark themes to suit different workflows. Notes stay in ordinary files on your computer, so you can organize, back up, and open them in other editors without an account or cloud dependency.
